The Otahu Estuary, where it enters the sea, is enjoyed by large numbers of locals and holidaymakers with a water quality.
Sheltered from wind and swell, the Otahu River`s calm waters are a perfect location for nature
lovers. Surrounded by native bush, mountains and marine life this estuary offers a spectacular opportunity to experience contact with Tui, Fantail, Kingfisher, Pukeko among other native Kiwi birds.
Looking down deep, you will be able to spot a variety of marine life including Butter fish, Purores, stingrays and eels swimming freely in the its clear calm waters.

WHERE TO MEET
We meet at our tour centre located at 227 Beverley Terrace, 15 minutes before the tour. After payment and disclaimer is done, customers are instructed to drive to Island View Road (beach access 14) where we launch our kayaks from.
