This is more than just a surf package — it’s the ultimate Kiwi beach lifestyle. Spend your mornings chasing waves on stunning New Zealand beaches, guided by passionate local surf coaches who know the ocean like the back of their hand. Then, as the sun begins to dip and the day slows down, roll out your mat for an evening yoga session designed to stretch tired muscles, reset the mind, and leave you feeling completely refreshed.
Surfing and yoga naturally go hand in hand. One builds strength and adventure, the other balance and flow. Together, they create the perfect way to connect with the ocean, your body, and the relaxed energy that makes New Zealand so special.
Whether it’s your very first wave or you’re looking to sharpen your skills, our qualified surf coaches and certified yoga teachers are there every step of the way — sharing their passion, local knowledge, and good vibes to help you get the most out of every moment.

At Surf N Stay New Zealand, the vibe is relaxed, social, and all about feeling at home by the beach. The lodge offers five spacious bedrooms with a mix of double and single beds, perfect for solo travellers, couples, or groups of friends.
Rooms can be arranged as private rooms or shared twin setups depending on bookings. Travelling solo? There’s a good chance you’ll be paired with another guest — and more often than not, new surf trips turn into new friendships.
The house is spread across two floors, each with its own kitchen, bathroom, and comfortable living space, giving everyone plenty of room to chill out after a surf, stretch on the balcony, or simply soak in the laid-back Coromandel lifestyle.
Mornings start slow and easy, just the way beach mornings should. Breakfast is served upstairs and includes fresh fruit, cereals, breads, spreads, tea, and coffee to get you fuelled for the day ahead.
Your host prepares breakfast around the surf and yoga schedule, so there’s always time to ease into the morning, enjoy a coffee, and check the waves before heading out.
If you have any dietary requirements, just let the team know when you arrive and they’ll happily cater to your needs.
Surf lessons usually take place in the morning when the waves are at their best, although times can change depending on tides and conditions.
Whether you’ve never touched a surfboard before or you’re already chasing greener waves, the experienced coaches adapt each session to your level and goals. You’ll learn everything from pop-ups and paddling techniques to wave selection, surf safety, and ocean awareness — all in a fun and supportive environment.
The main thing is to communicate with your coach, let them know your experience level, and what you’d like to improve. That way, every session is tailored to help you get the most out of your time in the water.
Yoga at Surf N Stay New Zealand is designed with surfers in mind. Led by an experienced teacher, the sessions focus on movements that help improve balance, flexibility, strength, and recovery after long days in the ocean.
Some classes are energizing and prepare the body for surfing, while others are slower and more restorative, helping you unwind and recharge. Most sessions take place outdoors by the beach, surrounded by fresh sea air and ocean sounds. If the weather turns, classes move indoors to the comfort of the house.
One of the best things about staying in Whangamatā is that there’s always something to do beyond the surf.
The stunning Coromandel Peninsula is packed with beautiful beaches, coastal walks, hidden spots, and outdoor adventures waiting to be explored. Around town you’ll find plenty of activities including kayaking, fishing, boating, golfing, and more — making it easy to fill your afternoons with adventure or simply slow down and enjoy the beach-town atmosphere.
